Kashmir Sees First Light Snowfall of the Season in Higher Regions; Cloudy Weather to Persist


Srinagar, Oct 29: Light snowfall was reported in Kashmir’s higher areas early Tuesday, with more cloudy weather expected for the next two days.

Snowfall in Areas Like Gurez and Minimarg
Northern areas like Gurez in Bandipora district and Minimarg on the Srinagar-Leh highway saw light snowfall this morning, along with a few other elevated regions.

Weather Forecast: Cloudy with Light Rain or Snow in Upper Regions

The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy weather across Kashmir, with a chance of light rain or snow in higher regions of north and central Kashmir through Thursday.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4°C, which is 7.4°C above the seasonal norm. This trend of warmer nights is being seen throughout the valley.

Outlook: Dry Weather Expected from Early November
The weather is forecasted to remain mainly dry across Kashmir after Thursday, extending into the first week of November.
