MP Ruhullah’s Open Letter to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah: Key Suggestions for J&K’s Welfare

Srinagar, Oct 29: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah has written a letter to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, congratulating him on his new role and offering suggestions for improving life in Jammu and Kashmir. His letter, which he shared on his social media account, highlights priorities aimed at enhancing welfare and justice in the region.

Key Recommendations in the Letter:

1. Release of Untried Prisoners:
Ruhullah urges the government to focus on releasing prisoners held without trial, stating that this move would promote fairness and uphold the rule of law. He emphasizes that addressing this issue would resonate with the values of justice and compassion.

2. Review of Reservation Policies:
The MP recommends re-evaluating reservation policies to ensure a balance between supporting disadvantaged groups and maintaining open opportunities based on merit. This balanced approach, he believes, would foster social equity while keeping standards of excellence intact.

3. Filling Government Vacancies:
Ruhullah highlights the importance of swiftly filling existing government job vacancies, which would provide many local youth with employment. He notes that addressing these job openings would support the regional economy and help reduce unemployment.

4. Addressing High Electricity Tariffs and Ensuring Supply Stability:
With winter approaching, Ruhullah points out the need to lower electricity tariffs, which are currently a burden on many families. He also calls for reliable power supply throughout the winter to support residents during the cold months.

5. Reforming the Verification Process:
According to Ruhullah, the current verification procedures are often unnecessarily strict and sometimes punish individuals unjustly. He suggests a review of these processes to make them fair and just for all applicants.

Message of Encouragement:
In closing, Ruhullah expressed his hope that Chief Minister Abdullah will consider these suggestions in his governance and use his leadership to build a progressive and fair administration in J&K. He extended his best wishes for Abdullah’s tenure, encouraging him to align his actions with the people’s aspirations.
