"Rizwan Aims to Lead Pakistan to Historic Victory in Australia as New White-Ball Captain"

Mohammad Rizwan Takes Charge as Pakistan's New White-Ball Captain

Pakistan’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has stepped into his new role as captain of the national white-ball team with a strong sense of purpose, aiming to lead Pakistan to a historic series win in Australia. Despite Australia’s tough reputation as a touring destination for Pakistan, Rizwan is optimistic about breaking the long-standing drought. His first challenge begins with an ODI series starting November 4, followed by matches on November 8 and 10. A three-match T20I series will follow on November 14, 16, and 18.

In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Rizwan acknowledged the team’s past difficulties Down Under, saying, “There’s no doubt that playing in Australia has been tough for us, as history shows.” However, he urged fans to keep their faith, adding, “The team we’re taking this time has what it takes, so I urge our fans to keep supporting us.”

Reflecting on their last series in Australia, where Pakistan narrowly lost several matches, Rizwan emphasized that the team has learned valuable lessons. “We were so close to winning each match last time,” he noted. “We've identified certain aspects to work on, and Inshallah, we’ll overcome Australia on their home ground this time.” With Rizwan’s leadership and determination, Pakistan hopes to secure a rare victory in Australia and mark the start of a new era in their cricket journey.
